Dark Silencing

I am back, again. I am officially saying these long pauses are ending. Sunday is the day for new posts. And now, on with the show.

I promised a dive into immigration, and well, this is not it. This is a preempt, of the preempt, I was going to do. This needs to be said.

It is hard to be zany Gremlin these days. I see what is happening in our country and feel my heart break. I wish this were the cliché it sounds like, but alas, it is not. There is an attack on what Overload represents at its most basic level. I have always believed in the principles of the U.S.A. but now, we have lost our way. Since a certain orange troll has returned to the White House, in an election I truly think was questionable. Not like his claims to 2020 but real statistical anomalies showing in real studies. Uh, I digress.

Since Chump’s return, we have seen comedians attacked, Americans beaten, terrorized, killed by masked thugs, news suppressed, and a disassociation from the truth like never before. Say their names: Renee Nicole Good, Alex Pretti, Reuben Ray Martinez, Silverio Villegas Gonzalez...not to mention the untold numbers in the camps, detention centers, gassed on the streets. I could go on with this and I don’t mean to disregard any of it but there is so much, I just cannot stay with this and have enough room to publish it. Wars, against other peoples in the world and here against citizens and immigrants whether legal or not. What it all boils down to is the worst of humanity gaining a foothold in our nation and the world on a level similar to the Third Reich. This is not hyperbole.

So what is the real topic today? One near and dear to my heart. You saw the illustration. The first amendment. What is happening? How many of you can quote the first amendment?

Forget quoting and just name the five components and think about their importance.

Religion, people have the right to their beliefs and to all those who say “this country was founded on Christian principles”, you are totally, and completely, wrong. You just are. The men who wrote the constitution and the bill of rights knew this. And my fellow Christians, so did Jesus. Don’t believe me? Then you need to learn to read your book. Freedom of religion and separation of church and state are in that amendment, I know, those living in ignorance like to say it does not say separation of church and state. Jefferson explained it in a letter to a church of all things. But read the amendment, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;” . When I say Jesus, there are numerous examples but this one always comes to my mind,"...Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's." That is not just about taxes, he was saying religion and politics should not mix. As a historian, I can honestly say this has been proven time and again.

The other four parts are intimately entwined, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, Right of Assembly, and Right to petition and redress grievances with the government. Though those that support this current group of reprobates in power often complained about these freedoms, they seem to think it means only for them and everyone else should be silenced. Wrong, in a democracy, all have a say and then decisions are to be made as a group. That includes representative democracy folks.

When you have a President who says people should not be allowed to say anything against him, he is wrong, and an overgrown, spoiled, child. We have seen the chairman of the FCC threaten networks and individuals on the orange baby man’s behalf. They tried to go after people who made tasteless comments after Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Guess what all extreme right wingnuts, that is acceptable. What would you do if the same happened to you? How about if Fox News were threatened with shut down by the government because they said something an opposing politician did not like? How quickly imagined slights while claiming cancel culture are forgotten, to hypocritically start censoring.

Like the days Jimmy Kimmel was off air because of an imagined mean word about the death of C. Kirk. But wait, there’s more.

This week, the worst on the road to authoritarianism finally happened. We witnessed the last episode of Late Night with Stephen Colbert. I am sure there are those out there saying who cares, but the death of first amendment freedoms is slowly marching on. And when the ability to question, dispute, debate and yes, poke fun at those in positions of power is suppressed, fined, threatened and outright stopped, we are rolling down that road to hell. Think of Stalin, Hitler and even fictional characters like Palpatine. Their takeovers happened because people started believing what they said and that nothing could be done to prevent it. As a historian I say this, wake up, it is happening.

Stephen, if you ever read this, you are a hero of putting the spotlight on the worst, while making us laugh and question with you. To my fellow Americans, even if I disagree with you, I will defend your freedoms with my last breath, all I ask is that everyone remember this and return the courtesy. We are on a very dark path which can still be stopped. Disagreement does not make us enemies. It makes us Americans with an opportunity, to learn from each other and overcome together, as we always have.

So, while I was gone has anything happened? I mean it isn’t like anyone noticed I was gone right? I had a small following but, not to seem arrogant, am aware people higher in the food chain knew of me and probably who I really am.

Without further delay: You already read the front page and am aware I am the Gremlin, or at least part of me is. Who is the Gremlin? Well, I am one who approaches the world with common sense, hopefully wisdom, thought, humor, and words to explain it.

Who am I really? Some of you know already but to quote V with one addendum: “Who? Who is but the form following the function of what? And what I am is a man, with an alias.”

I left this public presence a few years ago for personal reasons and doubted I would ever return having lost followers as a result of having to move my ramblings to another venue. Since this is covered on the main page of this very site, I think I can skip a rehash, don’t you? Events in the last few years have been a siren call. The darkness that we have all witnessed and many chose to support, has pushed me to talk sense to all, resist what is happening, voice the truth and stand up to the rising darkness in the best way I know how, for all of us. If you really don’t understand then you have your head in the sand or are a part of the darkness, either intentionally, by patent denial, compliance, or you really have no clue.

I have been accused of being a bleeding-heart liberal, but I don’t live up to that title. As a Historian I have read the founding father’s writings and understand that all of the rights in the constitution have legitimate reason, including the second amendment which I support and practice. Like many people I never thought the U.S.A. would ever approach the reason for it. Those who remember me from before are probably aware that the first time I saw a rise in the need approaching was during Bush 2. We avoided it because they did know there are some lines that should not be crossed. They were not total lunatics filled with complete hatred, bigotry, blind rage, power lust, greed, and utter contempt for all opposed to their position.

Am I saying violence is needed? No, but I fear we are approaching that time as I witness the violence perpetrated, almost entirely by the right. Yes, I am sure some of you are now saying but what about the assassination of Kirk? Yes, it happened. But let us consider all recent events, Minnesota, rampaging right wing killer attacking members of the state assembly leaving death, right wing group attempting to kidnap and murder the Gov. of Michigan, the shooter of Trump himself in Pennsylvania was an act of a lunatic, but he was right wing, January 6th (look, I watched it live that day and despite the attempts to re-write the situation, let’s be honest OK?), murderous arson attack against Gov. Shapiro of PA, arson and attempted murder of Judge Diane Goodstein and her family in SC, (this happened the day after the Chump administration declared her their enemy for telling them no, they could not break the law)….The list goes on and the violence is severely one sided. The lawlessness seems severely right leaning too. What now? Well, protest, resist, speak out, perhaps it is time they are reminded what this country was founded on and that the cruel and dare I say, evil, realize they are still outnumbered.

Speaking of the violence and the shooting of Charlie Kirk. You know, I, am not perfect. Think about it, my persona is that of a creature of mischief and mayhem. This persona has been mine for a very long time, longer than I care to admit because there are days I say, “I’m how old now? How did that happen?” The day the shooting news was everywhere I turned on my smart TV and saw a video with a title about the shooting. My first response was please tell me that’s true and that bigoted, narrow-minded monster really has gotten what he deserved. I think I even referred to him as a Nazi. This is not me, maybe it is a product of being older than I would like and tired of seeing these horrible things happening, these horrible things being said, and these horrible ideas taking root. But I did check myself and realize that I am not so old that I have lost empathy and decency. Empathy, a word Kirk himself criticized. He died at the point of a gun, the irony is sad but not lost on me, after he himself said that some shootings are acceptable as a price of freedom. (paraphrased)

As I support all the amendments, including the second, on some level, I understand this sentiment, but do not agree. Many, if not all of the shootings could have been and could be prevented. I am not saying eliminating a type of weapon or all guns is the way, it isn’t. I am not here to question the wisdom and intelligence of the men who wrote the Constitution and Bill of Rights. These were some of the cleverest people who ever lived, and their reasoning was sound. They meant for the people to be on equal footing with the government for the day they feared. The day when corruption would become too great and defending self and liberty is a right that may need to be exercised. They knew it would happen.

As I said, I checked myself, because no matter how much I disagree with someone, no good will come from such crassness and negativity.

Therein lies the problem, the big problem occurring before our eyes. We have all watched it grow, most of us unconsciously realizing in the deep recesses of our existence how wrong it is and how things are going off the rails. Deep down, I believe the vast majority of us know it is wrong and have felt the weight of the cancer growing over several years and creeping towards a climax none of us really want. Why? Well, many years ago restrictions on the media ensuring that news, really is news, and not infotainment, were lifted. And thus the “news” channels filled with subtle opinion and influence were born. OK, maybe some not so subtle. I was not a fan of either side doing this. It was corruption the founding fathers warned of. They weren’t just referring to government and campaign corruption. Corruption of the fourth estate is far more serious. It divides and distracts from reality. Though many people believe this biased processed junk news I would like to think deep down they know better. Perhaps I am still being too optimistic. I hope I am not, or we can all lose hope. Then we added social media into the mix. Wrong or exaggerated, unchecked media, both social and mainstream driving things to a breaking point, we never should have approached. This is how fascism and apathy arise.

The Gremlin of old, warned of such things and encouraged vigil, just as the founding fathers did. I fell prey myself, and left, or perhaps I was disheartened. I checked myself, but a horrible way of thinking entered my own thoughts. Epiphany strikes, now, I must do what I do best, again. Think clearly and return to the way of the pen. Er, word processor...art of wordsmith? It is time for me to step into the light as a writer once more, not too bright mind you, as bright light has painful results on my kind. :) No more silence and letting things go, this is not who I am.

So, back to our regularly scheduled story. The shooting. I read things that were being said and done. Again, the more horrible results, from the right. Saying horrible things from the left is wrong, but ruining people’s lives for saying horrible things after the shooting, isn’t right either. Free speech applies to all not just those in power who don’t seem to understand how rights work. I’m not saying it is good to say those things but both sides do this. One side more than the other usually and it isn’t those on the left.

Encouraging violence from the White House whether directly or subtly is definitely wrong. By the way, administration members, you aren’t as subtle as you think you are. Not even close. And don’t forget things said in the first term, being publicly gleeful when told a political opponent had COVID was horrible and far from presidential. I could go on a long time with this but won’t. Suffice to say, horrible statements seem more common on one side. No matter how I try to take different points of view I still come to this conclusion.

When I read what old friends from my youth were saying after the shooting. I saw a friend saying they were so upset because they thought Kirk, would one day run for president and be the best chance at taking this country back. The more I think about this statement, the more I see what is wrong, and how we were led down this road by many of the influences I mentioned. Let’s face it, bigotry in one form or another has never fully left and is always a dark underbelly in our society. Yes, enlightenment rose, and things were improving over the years, but our lack of vigil has allowed it to drag us back, nearly catastrophically. I say nearly because I think there is still hope. When I think of my old friend’s statement, I must ask, take the country back from what? Your fellow Americans who merely disagree with you or see things differently? Someone like me for example, who honestly cared about you way-back when, and still does? That isn’t who we are. It isn’t one side dominating or taking the country from the other. It is supposed to be different points of view coming together and trying to listen to each other. Working together towards a common goal and future. Finding a middle ground to improve the world and life for everyone. Respecting each other though we disagree and understanding that we need each other and all those thoughts and ideas to try and see a big picture for all, and the future, for those who follow. There is no taking back the country, we are one people.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk is a tragedy in so many ways, up to and including how it is being exploited. I had my disagreements with the man, many. And my first dark impulse makes me feel shame. I admit that. But I quickly corrected my thoughts and now feel a deep sorrow. He was only 31 and left a family. His legacy of ideas that I disagreed with, will be largely what is remembered. Before his light was extinguished, he had time, or so everyone thought. And that is the saddest part. He had time, to learn, gain wisdom, may have experienced change of heart and perhaps see things differently and denounce much of his previous horrible and bigoted views, maybe not. Who's to say, we will never know. It is possible, i.e. one of my favorite YouTube personalities, Jesse Dollemore, came from the white-nationalist tradition but changed completely as he aged and matured (maturity being objective, heh). I could find other examples but again, this would drag on. The point is, such acts of violence diminish us all, and takes away any possibilities. No one should die for their expression, ever. Truly, a tragedy.

Being back, I realize there is much to address, believe me, I know. But for now:

Who was in charge when the banks started failing? Who started the bail-outs and left the policy in effect when Obama came to office? Who did everything they could to prevent any improvements to the healthcare system and forced the issue so we have a healthcare plan with no teeth? The de-regulation of the banks that started this mess began during the Reagan years. I do believe it was actually his idea. I grant that there was one Democratic president in the following years who left it that way but I tend to think he had other things on his mind. He should have caught it but he was busier making sure that the wealthiest people in this country pay their fair share and contribute. Oh and he did fight for healthcare reform but alas, had less success than our current president.

Now I did it, I brought up old Ronnie Ray-gun. I hear people now almost worshipping that man and listen to what they say and wonder if they are really remembering the same man I do. I mean as I just mentioned, it was his policies that led to the economic disaster of the last three years. He tried to antagonize other world leaders and goad them into conflict. I believe this was part of his plan to help the economy. Historically (till Iraq), the economy improved during times of war. Ex-Governor Bush was after this as well but it blew up in his face.

Let us not forget his “trickle down” theory of economics. The idea was that giving the rich bigger tax breaks would improve the economy because they would have more to spend and throw more money into the economy and help us all. Well, it did not work because the rich did what they had always done and merely became richer. It was such a successful plan that Ex-Governor Bush decided to re-visit it. This idea was denounced by his own father…Reagan’s vice president, when he called it voodoo economics. He said it would never work and he was right. Mark this day down for the history books gang. Gremlin…agreed with a Bush.

Clinton changed that game and do we remember what happened? The U.S. government had a surplus and the economy was indeed improving. Admittedly, he needed to learn to keep it in his pants, or at least keep everyone from knowing… but what did that have to do with the performance of his job? His ideas were working.

So how did this election go down like this? The Karl Rove method works. Keep beating your drum and proclaiming the same things long enough and loudly enough and the sheeple will start to believe you.

As I said last week, the promise we were given by the Republicans is return to the same operating methods as before. So will people get the change they seem to believe they were offered? Obviously not, because we have already been told they want to go right back to the way they were. The ideas and goals that caused the messes we are in now are going to be repeated. They want to make the tax cuts permanent and repeal healthcare reform. How do you continue the tax cuts? They then claim they want to pull the government’s finances under control but continue to let the wealthiest people off the hook for contributing. I am not an economist but I see the problem in that. We finally have a step in the right direction for healthcare and their new speaker of the house calls it an abomination that must be repealed. What does he care about people who do not have healthcare coverage, because he is wealthy and has coverage? He even then called ours the best healthcare system in the world. Dude, wake up, we are far from it. There are communist nations with better systems.

This is a very sad thing to say but our saving grace is that though the GOP holds the house; the Dems hold the White House and Senate. They cannot do any of this. The most we will see is a lot of arguing that will result in nothing. The Senate can defeat bills from the house and even if it gets past there the president can veto leaving them without the numbers to override him.

Not enough Democrats showed up at the polls though surveys show the people want things accomplished they were promised. Somehow the propaganda machine of the other side convinced them in alarming numbers that the Republican plan of change…by doing the same thing, was a good plan. Is this the will of the people?...............What will?

I have been pondering the state of the world today and I find it a very curious thing. I return to the world of politics yet again. It has always been a recurring theme here at Mad Gremlin and I have risen to take my place in this field again. Where to begin?

Two years ago, I felt such pride and hope for the U.S. As I watched the election results and realized the man I thought we needed was not only winning but really handing his opponent his ass. (sorry) I actually had tears in my eyes as the days of abusing the laws and powers of this country were coming to an end. But I look back and wonder what has happened.

The president vowed to bring the powers of the different branches of government back into alignment. A president is not the ruling body as George W. Bush seemed to think. The real power lies in congress with the courts to keep them both honest. Freedom of speech and the press are supposed to guarantee that all three branches stay honest. This is something every fifth grader in this country should understand. So what happened? September 11, I loathe bringing it up these days because Bush and his cohorts used it to bludgeon the people of this country into letting them have far more power than they should have. They allowed and caused horrible things to happen that should never be and go against everything we stand for as a people. Some of this thinking has survived their passing from office and I will get to that in a moment.

As a member of the Democratic National Committee, I did my part and answered the surveys. I made comments to fellow Democrats about what I expected and their lack of progress. Seriously, I was critical and did not hold back and filled the little form up every time. (Would you have expected less from the old Gremlin?) I was thanked but still, very little changed.

Now we stand on the edge of the abyss and it appears that the upcoming election will go badly for the party and I have to ask…do we as a group deserve it? We have controlled congress since 2006. Granted, Bush was reined in by this change, which needed to happen. He felt that he could do whatever he wanted, consequences and world be damned. According to him the Constitution is just “a piece of paper”. With the way he abused power and circumvented the rules maybe it did just become a piece of paper. To one who grew up believing in this country, a Boy Scout no less raised in the tradition of a family descended from a governor of one of our fine states, this breaks my heart. It was clear the man had never read the treasured document from comments he made over the years and his actions…but he is gone now and no longer the question. Do not fear, Gremlin is not through with him or his cohorts. The damage they have caused will not soon be forgotten.

But we stand on the edge of the government swinging back to the control of the very people that caused the messes we have now. They have given their pledge…to change none of their methods or plans from the ones that lead us here already. And I say…WHAT!!?!! Worse still is that the traditional Republicans do not seem to be the ones taking the positions in the nominations. It is largely the “tea party movement” people getting the nominations.

I do not know if you have noticed but the tea baggers do not seem to always be the most rational people. One of their nominees is denouncing perversion, claiming all gays are perverts and gay marriage will destroy the world as we know it while at the same time sending videos to people on his phone with a woman having sex with a horse. (At least it was a male horse so it was not a gay encounter right?)

Another tea bagger has viral videos of insane things she said over the years on Bill Maher’s old show. I watched the old show, am a big fan of Bill and always have been and saw many of those segments air originally. People in this group have been known to hold signs that call the president a Nazi, a socialist and a communist. The terms do not work together guys. They also have claimed “taxation without representation” is a problem. Tea baggers do not vote? So how did these people get nominated? If they voted then clearly they have had representation. Apparently they do not know how to contact their representatives to complain. And last but not least…Sarah Palin has become an unofficial leader of this gang. That right there should tell you there is a problem.

So what is wrong? Well, I can see it myself. I have been disappointed in the party’s progress. There was a lot to do and a majority to do it with. Yet on the surface it appears very little has been done. Look at Healthcare Reform. It did not appear to accomplish much right? Well it did not from a certain perspective. But take a look from my point of view. In my profession I must deal with our state legislature. Something needs done and we suggest it. Do we ever get what we need or ask for? Let’s hear a big resounding NO. What did we learn? We got something, which is closer to the prize than we were last year. This is how it works when dealing with parliamentary politics. Now you get one step towards the goal, in a few months, another one. Eventually the job gets done. It is not perfect, in fact it sucks, but this is reality. “The Journey of a thousand miles starts with but a single step.” There has never been a truer statement.

They have made that first step, under Obama’s watch. No one else has ever gotten this far before. So one major problem I see is that the party is not pointing out the things they have accomplished. Yes, there have been accomplishments, many of them quite impressive. They should be proclaiming it on the highest mountain, yet they do not. Maybe they fear seeming like braggarts, or maybe they fear success. But now there is a debate about the tax cuts for the rich. There should be no debate. Giving the rich cuts caused failure with Reagan, it caused failure under Bush and it is causing it now. It must end. Clinton knew this and put a stop to it and things were improving. That shows that “trickle down” is bull and everybody knows it. Take a stand. Act a little like the republicans, take a position and defend it tirelessly without question or pause. Fight for what is right. I sound like Don Quixote but I feel like him again.

The problem the Democrats have now is…the Democrats. We are a party of intellectual discussion. We do not blindly follow the general stand of the group and look at things, debate ideas, estimate the outcomes and worry about how it affects others and their feelings. Usually I would say this is a good thing, but only until you have debated so long that not enough is being done. The best strength can be the greatest weakness.

The current head of the party, is an intellectual, Obama is a brilliant man who likes to study up before a decision. I respect that and am glad it is the case. We all remember what happened when “the Decider” was shooting from the hip after his gut told him to. The President tries to stay within his power as assigned by the Constitution. Yeah he has stumbled over some of the old Bush policies and made some decisions I disagree with but for the most part I think he is giving a good effort to follow the rules and do the right thing. But the time to tell the party to get the job done has come…and is passing.

The Writer's eye

Well where to begin? Heinlien, once said through his character, Jubal Harshaw, that he had a condition that is hard to explain. He needed to be alone for a while almost every day in order to relieve this condition. He said it was best not to disturb him and to leave him and his instruments for wordsmithing alone. He of course was referring to the writer’s itch. That desire that drives us to write. It can be almost a psychological disorder I suppose. For most of my life I believe I have suffered from this same dire affliction. But for some time now I have not let the genie out of the bottle and I now think I have suffered for it. So, what do I do? I brood, and brood…and brood until I finally decide it is time to rebuild this site. It is just one more step in getting back to what I am and think maybe… maybe I am better for it. You may ask why do I call myself a writer? Hey, re-read the previous sentences!

I also do this at work, not that you would ever know. Am I published? Actually yes, but still you would never know. Why? Because my professional writ is in the form of government documents and writings for the agency I spend my time at in between moments of my life. Ask me privately some time and I’ll show you something I have done. You will never believe it is the same person.

As I said on regular load, Mad Gremlin was a dream, even now I still do not call myself a blogger. Maybe I seem a little arrogant in this regard. Surely many bloggers consider themselves writers. Perhaps this is a little boring for my readers but remember, this is my column and you never know what it will be about. When you write yours maybe you can bore me. :)

So at last, I am back and welcome to Overload. I was thinking for the past few days and having a hard time coming up with a topic. This was never really a problem in the past seeing how there was always plenty to rant about. There still is, believe me, but my first time after being out of action so long? Wrong approach. So instead I am going to write about writing. Well sort of.

        Everyone has heard the cliché that writer’s are observers of the world and others. Many people would question this based on the fact that many writers work on fiction. I think of all the great works of science fiction and fantasy and wonder about that as well. On this very morning I found myself observing… and realized it is true. I was in deep thought about it all day and decided this topic had to come out of me while it was still hot.

     In my professional life I have always been a strong observer of others and what happens around me. Why? Well, I’ve been everything from a salesman to a social services worker.

     It has come in handy to get in people’s heads and figure out what they may be trying to do. It struck me as odd this morning when from across a room I realized someone was not feeling well and others did not. The person in question looked perfectly normal but I noticed little things and finally took an opportunity to ask if I could help. Yet others did not seem to notice.

It is a unique ability, to almost always be aware of things happening around me, and what is happening to others. I have actually sat in a food-court at a mall and watched people pass by and oddly, never realized I attached a story to them all. But I attach stories to things happening around me as well. Is this alleged trait something that made me start writing? No, probably not.

But I realized that I do notice small details around me. I have many times thought that this was being alert because I also try to be ready to protect myself and others come what may. When I really talk to people, I really listen and watch to find more meaning than others and I know what to say in return. Not always, but most of the time. And then I use this to put word to paper…or magnetic electronic media as the case is today. I have always journalized though I was lax in this for a while. I wrote stories but I also wrote down thoughts and observations of the world around me, and things I saw on TV or read. Did this contribute to my condition? Yeah baby!

A musician plays, an athlete competes, and a writer writes…but do we do more? Am I constantly putting stories to everything and have I always done so? Yeah, oddly enough but I do not think I realized it till this morning. I always knew I noticed things others did not but it never occurred to me.

I realized that I do notice things almost like I have less filters on when I observe. I rarely view the world with S.E.P. thoughts. (That means someone else’s problem.) This is something for me to consider, and a question for you, my fellow writers to consider. So that brings me to the final thought.

Is the writer’s eye different just like that of the artist or photographer? After careful thought ... and observing myself the only answer I can give is yes.

I realize this is not as flashing or controversial as some of my columns of the past but I would love to hear any and all comments on Mad Talk. L8r-------G

Not really a column But here it goes

After years of silence, I have finally returned. A new site was needed but I could never quite find what I was looking for. So, at last, a great experiment. The Mad Gremlin is reborn. Shouldn't there be a band and a really wild party in the streets or something? As before, there will be a column that will hopefully be posted weekly and this time there will probably be a blog for my thoughts to be shared.(scary right?) But this new place will be a menagerie just as MG of days gone by. Just as my interests, and yours, are many, so shall it be.

I'm still a little insane but that never left. Still have things to say but I'll try not to be too radical. Feel free to poke around and comment just remember a twisted mind is not wasted here. :) As time passes, I will expand and add to here. The thing I searched for the most was a message board system I liked. I missed the talks with all my old friends and it was time to bring that back. Now remember, feel free to disagree but play nice. I welcome healthy discussion and welcome friendly argument but don't like to put up with abuse and childish nastiness towards each other, so please don't do it. Old friends are welcome to bring their popcorn and comfy chairs for when a real good debate starts. I know I kept you entertained in the past and that shall not change.
